Xbox and Game Pass users have been reacting to the news on the Xbox Reddit page with one user saying, “I know it’s only a $2 difference, but $16.99 is a bit harder to swallow on a monthly basis compared to $14.99. However, any new subscribers will be changed by the increased rate immediately on July 6th. If you have a yearly code for either of the subscriptions the price increase won’t take effect until you look to renew your subscription. If you’re currently an existing Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber the price increase won’t come into effect until August 13, 2023, or September 13, 2023, in Germany.
Despite these changes, there has been no price adjustment to PC Game Pass pricing. Xbox Game Pass for console will also be raised from its original $9.99 a month to $10.99 a month (€10.99 / £8.99).
